Smells beautiful, of roses and a really pretty raspberry expression here, some true-to-France pyrazines, but dialed in. The palate has a slight citrus note with wild berries, a light buoyant body but a very long mineral finish.
From a 1.5ha plot in the center of the Santa Ynez Valley. There is a huge diurnal temperature change, meaning well ripened fruit, with a high retention of acidity. Solis are volcanic sand over volcanic rocks.
Fermentation is 50% whole cluster, which explains some of the gorgeous aromatics, for 21 days with only gentle pour overs. Then into neutral French barrels for 10 months.
