The 2013 Marcassin Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast offers an expressive and complex profile, showcasing the finesse and craftsmanship of Helen Turley. While not as bold as its 2012 predecessor, this vintage stands out for its elegance and layered nuances, making it a true reflection of Marcassin’s Pinot Noir legacyExpert Notes
Robert Parker: 94The 2013 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard doesn’t have quite the drama, depth of flavor or profound depth of the 2012. This dark plum/ruby-colored wine offers displays crisp acids as well as notes of Chinese black tea and orange rind, and builds incrementally in the mouth to a medium to full-bodied finish. By Marcassin standards, it’s just a brilliant wine rather than a compellingly great one. Reviewed by Robert M. Parker, Jr. Issue date: March 3, 2016. Drinking window: 2016-2031.
